Politics…!
Sometimes the church can make the mistake of pinning too much hope on political power.
There have been times of playing the game, making the right friends in power, and seeking to influence what happens in the nation.
But there’s often a cost that comes with this; giving in order to take. We begin to compromise on values, on beliefs and on standards.
The opposite temptation is to completely disengage with the political scene.
To believe that faith and politics don’t belong in the same room together.
But this denies the reality that the church has an obligation to be a voice for good. It also denies the reality that politics directly influences the freedoms and daily lives of every person in the church.
How do we engage in this space then?
